From the moment you first contact us, our team is dedicated to praying for you, your baby, and your growing family as a whole. Above and beyond our private daily prayer life we meet corporately once a week to bind together in prayer. We are holding on to the promises of God for your life, for your child’s life, and your breastfeeding & postpartum journey.
Midwifery Services:
Knitted Together Birth Services is honored to offer Christ-centered home birth care for women and families across Southern Virginia—including (but not limited to) Danville, Chatham, South Boston, Halifax, Martinsville, and Rocky Mount. Our office is located at the Living Waters Healing Arts Center at 449 CHalk Level Rd. in Chatham, Virginia, and serves as a welcoming space for connection, prayer, and preparation with guess dates in January 2026 and beyond.
Our name comes from Psalm 139:13—“For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb.” This verse reflects the heart of our mission: to honor God’s design for birth by offering care that is grounded in faith, compassion, and community.
We believe birth is a sacred and powerful event, one that God intricately designed and blesses with His presence. Our goal is to walk alongside you as partners in both the physical and spiritual journey of bringing new life into the world. As midwives, we are called to serve with hands of skill and hearts of worship, offering evidence-based care that uplifts and supports your God-given ability to birth.
We are passionate about improving outcomes for low-risk mothers and babies through holistic, relationship-based care. Whether we’re supporting you through pregnancy, labor, or postpartum, we keep Christ at the center, encouraging prayerful, informed decision-making and nurturing the whole person: mind, body, and spirit.

Doula Services
Your birth experience will be a lifelong memory, and using our doula services can help ensure that the birth of your child will be a memory of satisfaction. A doula recognizes birth as a key life experience and understands the physiology of birth and the emotional needs of a woman in labor. She assists a laboring woman in preparing for, and carrying out, her plans for the birth. She stays by the side of the laboring woman throughout the birth experience; providing emotional support, suggesting practical comfort measures, and providing objective information to aid decision making. She supplements, rather than replaces, the woman’s partner or care provider. She helps make a woman’s birth experience a positive event with rich rewards and feelings of accomplishment.
Lactation Counseling
We offer Holistic in-home Lactation Consultations & Breastfeeding Counseling for Mothers & babies at any stage of your feeding journey.
Breastfeeding is a beautiful & natural experience for birth mother and baby. It also can come with challenges that need navigation and support. We believe that you can have a positive breastfeeding experience and will walk along side you as you navigate this chapter of your life.
We offer non judgmental Prenatal Education, In Home Consultations, Feeding Plans, Holistic Counseling, Weight Checks, & More.
Sarah
Sarah is a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and Licensed midwife (LM) Virginia, Certified StillBirthday Doula, DONA International Trained Doula, Professional Birth Photographer, and Childbirth Educator.
She brings deep passion and dedication to the birth world, with a mission to create positive change, one birth at a time. From a young age, Sarah felt called to support families, though it took time to find the path that aligned with her heart. It wasn’t until she joined the ARMY and had her first child that she realized birth didn’t have to look like what society or Hollywood often portrays. That experience sparked a fire in her to help women understand that God designed their bodies with strength and purpose!
While still serving in the military, Sarah supported three fellow soldiers through their birthing journeys. After completing her service in 2012, she became a doula and birth photographer, then soon after, a Certified StillBirthday Doula, walking alongside families through both joyful and heartbreaking births. Her commitment deepened with time, and after much prayer and reflection, she felt a strong calling to pursue midwifery and became a CPM.
Sarah is passionate about empowering mothers to trust their bodies, their instincts, and their faith. Her guiding belief: “Peace on Earth begins with birth.”
She is blessed with a loving husband, four beautiful children, and two angel babies. A devoted follower of Christ, Sarah finds joy in the simple things like family time, homeschooling, and serving at her church. Raising Godly children has always been one of her highest callings.
In every aspect of her work, Sarah’s love, faith, and joy shine through. She believes that birth is not only the arrival of a baby but the birth of a mother and a family. Her mission is to walk with women through that sacred transformation, providing unwavering support and prayer from pregnancy through parenthood.
Kelly
Kelly is a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) serving homebirth families and passionate about God-centered, physiological birth. In addition to being a CPM, Kelly is also trained as a Trauma-Informed Birth, Bereavement, and Postpartum Doula, Certified Lactation Counselor® (CLC), Perinatal Mental Health Professional, Childbirth Educator, and Certified Placenta Encapsulator. She holds a degree in Clinical Mental Health & Psychology, along with a wide range of continuing education and advanced trainings.
Kelly believes birth is a sacred space—not because of the strength or knowledge of a midwife, nor solely because of the power of a woman or the fight of a baby, but because of the God who created birth. He is the Author of life and the Master of being born—to be birthed, born, reborn, and born again. Birth becomes sacred when we surrender fully to Him, allowing His strength to be made perfect in our weakness.
Kelly does not believe pregnancy is an illness that must be managed, but rather a God-given physiological process. When pregnancy and birth are approached with reverence, patience, trust, informed choice, evidence-based care, and deep respect for a mother’s God-given intuition, families are able to experience birth that is peaceful, empowering, and free from unnecessary trauma.
Kelly is married to her best friend, Jason, and together they serve in various leadership roles within their local church, including leading the children’s and youth ministry. They are the proud parents of three children, who are growing far too quickly. As a child, Kelly dreamed of becoming a mother and raising a family, and she considers it her greatest honor and blessing today. When she is not on call serving families, Kelly enjoys coffee, a good book, and traveling the world.

Sarah was an amazing birth photographer, checking in with me from my delivery date up until my little girl finally decided to arrive, she arrived at the birthing center with very short notice and documented our birth story so beautifully. I barely noticed her taking pictures, I did however notice when she would cool off a washcloth for me as I labored in the tub, I noticed when she was there holding my hand, rubbing my face as the midwife stitched me up afterward while my husband bonded with our precious newborn. Our pictures turned out beautifully, and I feel that we gained not only wonderful documentation of our birth but friendship as well.
